Zelensky Meets Nuclear Inspection Team in Kyiv
International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) officials met with President Zelensky in Kyiv, on Tuesday, August 30, according to Ukraine’s public broadcaster, Suspilne News.
In a press release on Monday, the IAEA said Ukraine assured that safety systems were operational and no increase in radiation levels had been recorded at the Zaporizhia Nuclear Power Plant, despite reported shelling in the area on Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
Satellite images, released on Monday, showed damage near the nuclear power plant.
The IAEA said that officials were working to “help ensure nuclear safety and security.”
