Wrestling Individual Finals Schedule for each County grappler

With the MHSAA Individual State Finals right around the corner, here is a breakdown of the schedules for the events at Ford Field as well as a look into each County wrestler's bracket.

Finals Event Schedule

March 4-5

Thursday (March 3)

Check-ins and weigh-ins will be held at Groves High School from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

Friday

Gates open for athletes at 8:30 a.m. General admission opens at 9 a.m. The Grand March, where every team and their wrestlers walk the length of the floor, begins at 10 a.m. National Anthem preceedings are scheduled for 10:15 a.m. Wrestling is scheduled to begin at 10:30 a.m. Consolations begin around 1:45 p.m. Quarterfinals begin at 3:15 p.m. Blood rounds start at 5 p.m. Another National Anthem is scheduled for 6:25 p.m. before the start of semifinals. Semifinal matches begin at 6:30 p.m.

Saturday

Gates open for athletes at 7:30 a.m. Doors open for general admission at 8 a.m. National anthem preceedings begin at 8:35 a.m. Consolation rounds will begin at 9 a.m. and will run until 1 p.m. Finals set up will begin, with doors opening for general admission to the finals at 2 p.m. The Champions March will begin at 2:50 p.m. and another Anthem will be held shortly after. Finals are scheduled to start at 3:30 p.m. Awards ceremonies look to start around 7 p.m.

Tickets

Tickets are walk-up sales only. Tickets are sold at $18 per session. Tickets are available to buy for all-sessions. Those tickets are $45. All tickets are general admission with no reserved seating. "In and out" privileges at Ford Field will be available both days.

D3 Finals Brackets

(Starting Weight: 189)

Stephen Petersen - Hillsdale - 189 - 23-15 record

Stephen Petersen will face off against Alma's Cole O' Boyle (37-3) in the first round. The winner faces either Tyler Brooks (34-12) of Pinconning or Kevin McKiernan (36-9) of Richmond in the quarterfinals.

Quade Mesarosh - Hillsdale - 215 - 31-5 record

Senior Quade Mesarosh will face Swan Valley's David Hernandez (31-13) in round one. The winner will face either Leo Guadarrama (45-2) of Hard or Andre Penny (27-14) of Croswell Lexington in the quarterfinals.

Logan Horn - Hillsdale - 285 - 36-9 record

Senior Logan Horn will be matched up with Centerline's Seth Fulton (36-5) in round one. The winner will take on either Levi Harber of Montrose (40-4) or Caden Adams of Alma (17-13) in the quarterfinals.

Tyler Milks - Jonesville - 130 - 33-11 record

In matchup No. 60 in round one, Milks will face off against Kaden Chinavare of Dundee (32-3). The winner will take on either Jordan McBee (33-7) of Boyne City or Buddy Leonard (34-9) of Alma in the quarterfinals.

Derek Ballinger - Jonesville - 135 - 27-7 record

Derek Ballinger will be matched up with Swan Valley wrestler Matthew Starks in the first round. Starks has a 35-9 overall record. The winner will move on to face Portland's Drew Miller (38-12) or Dundee's Logan Sander (32-6) in the quarterfinals.

D4 Finals Brackets

Hunter Dewey - Reading - 125 - 27-16 record

Hunter Dewey will face Vassar's Chase Nickerson (30-6) in the first round. The winner will face either Daniel Manier (27-12) of Iron Mountain or Travis Frederick (34-5) of Jackson Christion in the quarterfinals.

Lukas Selph - Reading - 130 - 36-4 record

Lukas Selph will face Dylan Marr (18-10) in the first round. The winner will face either Sam Fry (24-7) of Charlevoix or Aden Baynes (35-4) of Laingsburg in the quarterfinals.

Eathan Westfall - Reading - 285 - 41-1 record

Eathan Westfall will face Ispheming's Brandon Vickstrom (12-14) in the first round. The winner will face either Theodore Hoadley (31-12) or Alex Burhans (28-14) in the quarterfinals.
