Winter All-Scholastics are here

It's finally time to start publishing our All-Scholastic teams for the winter season.

Swimming & Diving kicked off the action on Monday. Girls Basketball will be online on Tuesday with Boys Basketball to follow on Wednesday.

Our winter all-scholastic sports include (in addition to the three teams already mentioned): wrestling, boys and girls hockey, boys and girls track and gymnastics.

Stay tuned for those.

Stat of the Week

Thayer Academy freshman swimmer Peyton Knightly might hold a record for breaking records. The All-Scholastic swimmer is already the owner of eight records for the Tigers in her two years on the varsity team. After breaking a pair of marks last year, she broke six more this winter.

Jason Snow's inside look at the rivalry between Quincy and North Quincy baseball was another popular read this week. The coaching staffs and teams (obviously) have tons of connections and we took a deeper look at how that game is a bittersweet battle. Jason will be back on that beat tonight when he covers Quincy vs. North Quincy softball.

On the Enterprise side, our top story was on the first father-son battle between Abington baseball coach Steve Perakslis and his son Stephen Perakslis Jr.

The elder Perakslis has built up one of the most successful programs in the area while his son is in Year 3 (really Year 2 if you factor in the cancelled 2020 season) of trying to build the Cardinals into a winner. Those teams will be paired up again on May 6.
