Yahoo Finance's Rick Newman joins Jen Rogers and Myles Udland to break down the April jobs report and give this week's Trumpometer reading.

Video Transcript

JEN ROGERS: Drum roll, please. The moment you've been waiting for all week-- the Trumpometer with Rick Newman. Rick.

RICK NEWMAN: Jen, you're not going to believe it. The world-famous Trumpometer jumped the tracks this week. Look at this. There's a-- sad wasn't bad enough. Sad is not low enough to describe this jobs report. So there's a new category on there. It's called nasty. Worse than sad. You always wondered what's worse than sad when the Trumpometer launched in 2017.

The carnage we saw in the job market today was unimaginable. You know, in economics, we like to say "the worst since," and, now, over and over, we're saying the worst since the Great Depression. So this is really serious.

President Trump said today those jobs are going to come back, and they're going to come back fast. I think that's wishful thinking. We've had so many people on Yahoo Finance say, gonna come back gradually, if at all. Maybe by 2022, we will have repaired all this damage to the job market. It's terrible out there.

JEN ROGERS: Wow. Rick Newman. Nasty.
