Watch: Red Sox fan makes amazing catch on splintered bat flying into stands during ALCS Game 5
Boston Red Sox fan Matt Ferrera made possibly the catch of the game Wednesday at Fenway Park, and it wasn't a foul ball.
Red Sox third baseman Rafael Devers was in the batter's box when he made contact with the ball and ended his swing with half a bat.
The now spear shaped top-half of bat soared behind him into the field box and landed perfectly in the hands of Ferrera, narrowly avoiding fans. The Plymouth, Massachusetts native told Yahoo Sports, his life did not flash before his eyes he "just saw the bat coming and I was like 'I got to grab that thing.'"
