Google search data shows ‘real estate market crash’ has rocketed as mortgage rates soar

AKIKO FUJITA: Well, seek and you shall find. That is some depressing information about the housing market. That's what a lot of googlers seem to be doing lately. Our chart of the day comes courtesy of Zero Hedge looking into Google search data and pointing out that interest for the search term "real estate market crash" has rocketed 284% in the US during the last month.

The Fed is, of course, looking to slow the housing market, so this may be a good development for some. With that said, worth noting, mortgage rates for a 30-year fixed loan inching closer to that 7% level.
