President Donald Trump on Wednesday engaged in a war of words against Goodyear, calling for a boycott in reaction to a social media post that suggested the company was playing favorites with employee-approved political speech. Yahoo Finance's Emily McCormick joins Akiko Fujita to discuss.

AKIKO FUJITA: --away from retail. We're talking about Goodyear Tire. We've been watching that stock closely today, getting hit down about 2% on the back of President Trump calling out the company for what he believes is stifling political speech. What exactly is happening there?

EMILY MCCORMICK: Well, President Donald Trump's tweet was actually itself a response to a widely circulated image of what appeared to be a slide show from Goodyear showing the company deeming it acceptable to wear attire supporting some causes, like Black Lives Matter, while labeling others' political speech, such as MAGA hats and Blue Lives Matter, as unacceptable. Now, Goodyear actually came out with a statement this afternoon that said that this image was misleading. In the statement, it said, quote, "The visual in question was not created or distributed by Goodyear corporate, nor was it part of a diversity training class." So Goodyear clearing up some of the misconceptions around that, at least, but again, we are seeing those shares trading lower and looking to post back-to-back sessions of losses. Akiko.
