Dell and Spotify are today's Stocks on the Move

JULIE HYMAN: In the meantime I just want to watch a couple of stocks on the move that are tech shares, as well. Dell shares are up in a big way today. Let's see, they're up, let's see, about 14% right now. The company says it's in the early stages of exploring a spin off of VMware, its majority ownership in that company. It could yield it a lot of cash. But it's also its fastest growing business unit.

We've seen a lot of financial engineering that Michael Dell has done with his namesake company. And if this deal does indeed happen, it wouldn't happen before September next year at the earliest. So it's still rising in anticipation of that.

And also becoming a podcaster, Michelle Obama is debuting a podcast on Spotify on July 29th. It's going to be available both to free and premium subscribers. And this is the first project that came out of the Spotify deal that she, and Barack Obama, and the family's production company Higher Ground signed with Spotify last year. So Spotify shares trading higher by about 4%.
