On Tuesday, the United States hit over 200,000 deaths whilst the Europeans and the United Kingdom begin to worry about the ‘second wave’ in the winter months, with the latter saying it may extend restrictions for another six months. Yahoo Finance’s Anjalee Khemlani joins The Final Round to discuss the latest on the coronavirus.

MYLES UDLAND: --the show. All right, let's turn our attention now to the coronavirus and all the latest updates and particularly what is going on in Europe. Anjalee Khemlani, concerning situation there is, I think, the second wave so many commentators have feared would happen in the US. I guess the first wave never really ended here. But in Europe, that kind of dynamic does indeed seem to be playing out.
ANJALEE KHEMLANI: That's correct, Myles. What we're seeing is that a number of countries are starting to report serious increases in cases, France with more than 10,000 over the weekend per day. And so that's really setting the tone for exactly, as you pointed out, what health experts have been warning, especially in the Northern Hemisphere, where temperatures are dropping.
And we're falling into that period of time where upper respiratory diseases can start spreading, just like the flu, which is also going to be a concern. So right now, we've seen, you know, even some Eastern European countries that sort of avoided being affected earlier on are starting to see that rise. And this has to do with, you know, the freedom of movement that's been happening in the UK.
We've heard restrictions are going to be in place for at least the next six months. That includes bars closing by 10:00 PM and encouraging more work from home, which had already started to ease. So that's definitely setting the tone, you know, for what we're looking for potentially happening here in the US. As you know, we've seen schools reopen, we've seen lifted restrictions in many states.
And let's not forget that there have been increased cases in some states, which has been concerning for officials, including Utah, Idaho, and Wisconsin of note recently. So definitely preparing for what that could mean in these coming months.
