ZACK GUZMAN: For all you sports fans out there, another reason to be excited, as the stage is finally set tonight for game 1 in the World Series, as the LA Dodgers take on the Tampa Bay Rays at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas, home, of course, to the Texas Rangers. It's the first time in history that the Fall Classic is going to be played at a neutral site, and fans will be allowed, up to 50% capacity or a total of about 11,000 fans.

So you've got to travel to a neutral site for a game that might not have the same energy of a packed stadium. So that's got to mean ticket prices are cheaper, right? Well, maybe not so much. According to secondary ticket site TicketIQ, prices are still within the historical range that we've seen at the World Series at an average of about $1,300 per seat for the match-up as of Monday morning. Now, that's down a bit from the nearly $2,000 a pop last year between the Astros and the Washington Nationals, but, still, the sixth-highest average in the last decade. So not exactly a bargain.

I was taking a look on other-- cheaper seats here on some of these secondary sites too, and you're still seeing some available there in the $300 range per ticket. Of course, prices have crept higher since the final match-up was set, as the Dodgers punched their ticket. A lot of Dodgers fans might point to that being the reason why ticket prices went up. Historically, it's the case that you do see a bit of a pop after the match-up is set.

And interesting data also coming in to us from SeatGeek, pointing out that many of the purchases this time around were local on that platform, with 30% of the purchases coming in from the Texas area. But fans are still willing to travel. 28% of the purchases also coming from California, 9% from Florida. And right now, game 4 on SeatGeek's platform showing as the hottest ticket, with tickets reselling for an average of more than $1,100 per ticket there.

So we'll see how those prices change. But, again, for all sports fans, it's just exciting to have the World Series be played, as there were so many questions earlier in the year. Good luck to both teams. I've got no horse in this race, so I don't really care. But exciting for baseball fans out there.
