Trump recently signed an executive order to weaken social media companies. Yahoo Finance’s Dan Howley joins Akiko Fujita to discuss.

AKIKO FUJITA: I want to move on to another issue the president could potentially address today in that press conference. And that is the fight he has been having with social media companies, the president yesterday signing that executive order, looking to increase oversight on social media companies.

And today, we saw Twitter, yet again, label one of President Trump's tweets today, this time in response to what he mentioned about the unrest over in Minneapolis. I want to bring in Dan Howley for that part of the story. Dan, walk us through what exactly the tweet said and Twitter's response to that.

DAN HOWLEY: Yeah, basically, the tweet is in response, obviously, to what's going on with the unrest in Minnesota. And essentially, it references a prior quote to the unrest that occurred around Florida during the '60s, and it [AUDIO OUT] when the looting started. That's the part that Twitter took offense to and really basically says that that's promoting violence, or glamorizing violence to a degree-- glorifying it, if you will.

And that's against the company's code of conduct. This is similar to the tweets that he had with relation to mail-in ballots. Those tweets were also against the company's code of conduct because they could cause harm to an election. That's part of their election integrity issues. So both of them clear violations of Twitter's standards and practices essentially.

This one in particular, though-- the reason why it was blocked was because of that line-- glorifying violence. And they didn't want that to stand. So they put a full blank cover on it. Now you can click through if you want, but this is wholly different than what they did originally with the mail-in ballots, where they just put a fact check.

AKIKO FUJITA: OK, Dan Howley bringing some context to this story. Thanks so much for that.
