US Air Force says drones still being spotted over bases in England
Unidentified drones are still being spotted over United States Air Force (USAF) bases in England on Wednesday, a USAF spokesperson said, confirming that a fourth base had also been targeted by the week-long airspace incursions. Since the first small unmanned aerial system was first spotted on Nov. 20, the number of drones has fluctuated and there have been a range of different sizes and configurations, said the U.S. Air Forces in Europe spokesperson. The drones have also been seen over RAF Fairford, in western England, the spokesperson said, adding to the sightings reported on Tuesday over three bases in eastern England, RAF Lakenheath, RAF Mildenhall, and RAF Feltwell.

Albanian opposition leader Berisha released from house arrest, court says
Opposition leader Sali Berisha was released from house arrest following a ruling from an Albanian court on Wednesday, while he awaits trial on corruption charges, just as popular protests against his detainment intensified. Berisha, 80, has been detained since December 2023 and was indicted in September when prosecutors filed charges, accusing him of using his influence in his first term as prime minister between 2005-2009, to help his son-in-law win a lucrative construction contract. Berisha, who is the leader of the opposition Democratic Party, denies the charges and says they are part of a political vendetta against him by the ruling party.

Albanian opposition leader released from house arrest but still faces corruption charges
An Albanian court on Wednesday released from house arrest former Prime Minister Sali Berisha, who leads the opposition Democratic Party and is charged with corruption. The Special Court for Corruption and Organized Crime, which covers cases involving senior officials and politicians, revoked its order for Berisha's house arrest issued almost a year ago, without giving any reason. In December, Berisha's parliamentary immunity was removed and he was placed under house arrest after he violated an earlier order to report to the court every two weeks.
