Trinity Christian sophomore quarterback Colin Hurley commits to LSU, reclassifies to 2024

From the First Coast to the Bayou.

Trinity Christian sophomore quarterback Colin Hurley committed to LSU on Friday morning, announcing his decision on Twitter.

The 6-2, 215-pound Hurley, ranked as a four-star recruit by On3 and Rivals and a five-star in the 247Sports composite, has been rated among the nation's top five quarterbacks for the 2025 recruiting class. However, Hurley also announced that he plans to reclassify to the 2024 class.

He's already a champion, helping Trinity Christian to its ninth Florida High School Athletic Association state championship last December and defeating Champagnat Catholic in the Class 2A final.

Hurley and the Conquerors won their first nine games of the 2022 FHSAA season, although the quarterback has missed the last three weeks because of an arm injury. For the season, he has completed 60 of 109 passes for 954 yards, 12 touchdowns and three interceptions. During his freshman year, Hurley completed 144 of 257 passes for 2,146 yards, throwing 24 touchdowns and 12 picks.

Momentum toward LSU had been building for Hurley since he took an official visit to the SEC West school in September.

He becomes the second SEC commit on Trinity's current offense, following four-star senior running back Treyaun Webb's commitment to Florida.
