Thousands graduate from FSU, FAMU and TCC during fall commencement ceremonies | Photos

Friday and Saturday were momentous days for thousands as they received their diplomas from Florida State University, Florida A&M University and Tallahassee Community College.

Roughly 2,900 graduates were recognized at FSU, 600 at FAMU and another several hundred from TCC.

Two of Florida State’s distinguished faculty members — one a scholar of Shakespeare, Gary Taylor, and the other a nuclear astrophysicist, Jorge Piekarewicz — addressed the grads Friday during two ceremonies.

T.J. Rose, a native of Tallahassee, FAMU alumnus and member of the FAMU Foundation board, presented as the Rattlers' keynote speaker during the single ceremony held Friday evening. President Larry Robinson also presented an honorary doctorate to national civil rights attorney Ben Crump of Tallahassee.

Mark Wilson, President and CEO of the Florida Chamber of Commerce, delivered the keynote address to TCC honorees.
