With one week left in the high school basketball regular season, Ledford holds a half-game lead in the Mid Piedmont 3A and Thomasville sits at 1.5 games out of first place in the Central Carolina Conference 1A/2A standings.

Thomasville (13-4, 7-1) has the chance to pick up a game on league-leading Salisbury (14-3, 9-0) when the Hornets come to the Bulldogs' home court Wednesday.

Thomasville lost the teams' first game on Jan. 31, 93-72, despite 18 points and nine assists from junior Janhri Luckey.

Wednesday's matchup is part of a three-game week for the Bulldogs, who also play at winless East Davidson and end the regular season Friday at home against Lexington.

The Panthers had a six-game winning streak snapped with Saturday's 57-52 home loss to MPC second-place Central Davidson (17th in the RPI).

Ledford closes out the regular season this week with a home game against Asheboro and two games, home and away, against North Davidson.

The Spartans (15-6, 6-2) haven't lost since Ledford won their first matchup on Jan. 12. They'll face North Davidson and Oak Grove this week.

If the playoffs started today, Thomasville, Lexington, Ledford and Central Davidson would represent Davidson County.
