Texas men's basketball team seeks to stay alone atop the Big 12 against host Kansas

About the Longhorns: In Saturday’s 69-66 win over No. 7 Kansas State, the Longhorns recorded their third double-digit comeback victory in Big 12 play and remained in first place in the conference race. Texas, which erased an 18-point deficit against TCU on Jan. 11 and a 12-point deficit against Texas Tech on Jan. 14, trailed Kansas State by 14 points with 30 seconds left in the first half. … Graduate transfer Jabari Rice posted his first double-double as a Longhorn with 14 points and a season-high 10 rebounds against Kansas State. … Christian Bishop, a Missouri native, played a season-high 26 minutes against the Wildcats and tallied 14 points and six rebounds. … Texas has won three of its past four games against Kansas. … Allen had 24 points and nine boards in the Longhorns’ 79-76 win over Kansas last season but was held to nine points in the 2022 rematch won by Kansas 70-63.

About the Jayhawks: The offense struggled in Saturday’s 68-53 loss to Iowa State, committing 20 turnovers, shooting 38.6% from the field and having just one player — Wilson, who had a game-high 26 points — in double figures. … Adams, a 2021 graduate of Westlake and the American-Statesman’s All-Central Texas high school player of the year, has started 22 games this season. … Wilson leads the Big 12 in points per game, rebounds per game and double-doubles with nine.
