Tennessee high school football scores, TSSAA live updates for Week 7 in Nashville area

We have made a return to region play for much of Tennessee high school football teams across the state for Week 7 of the 2022 TSSAA regular season.

The Nashville area's top game is Oakland (5-0, 2-0 Region 4-6A) traveling to Blackman (5-1, 2-0). The winner is in the driver's seat for the region title and top seed from the league for the TSSAA Class 6A playoffs. Oakland is the two-time defending Class 6A state champion and has won 35 straight games.

TOP GAMES FOR WEEK 7Blackman vs. Oakland headlines Week 7 Nashville area games — with predictions

The Patriots have also won 52 consecutive region/district games dating back since Aug. 24, 2014 when Blackman beat Oakland 28-21.

Another game that will have statewide attention is in Chattanooga where Baylor (5-0, 2-0 DII-AAA East/Middle) hosts McCallie (5-1, 1-1).

10:30 p.m.: Some final scores

9:30 p.m.: Springfield ties game late against Henry County

Springfield's Travyion Binford had a 35-yard touchdown catch with 56 seconds left, and the Yellow Jackets converted the two-point conversion pass to draw even at 21-21.

9:15 p.m.: CPA-FRA is close, while Oakland is pulling away

CPA and FRA are going back and forth heading into the fourth quarter. FRA's Ty Clark III scores from a yard out to put FRA up 27-26.

Oakland now leads 46-18 heading into the fourth quarter against Blackman.

Elsewhere, Brentwood has come back from 17-3 down to force overtime against Independence.

CPA is back ahead of FRA after this pitch-and-catch from Braden Streeter to London Humphreys for a 65-yard touchdown.

7:50 p.m.: A look around Middle TN, as well as an upset brewing in Maryville?

FRA is on the board with a second quarter touchdown pass, but CPA leads 13-7 late in the first half.

Blackman is within 21-12 in the second quarter against Oakland, but are down two scores after a missed two-point conversion and a blocked extra point.

It's not in the midstate, but Maryville has scored a touchdown to go up 24-21 against Cleveland in the fourth quarter. We'll keep tabs on it.

7:30 p.m.: Blackman trying to keep up with Oakland

Oakland leads Blackman 14-6 after one quarter on touchdown runs by Eric Taylor Jr. and Kade Hewitt.

The Blaze should be able to put up some yards and points against Oakland tonight, but can they get the stops necessary to stay within shouting distance?
