Through this promo, Target is offering $40 off of a future qualifying purchase over $40 when approved for a credit or debit RedCard. When you apply for and are approved for the Target debit or credit card, you will be mailed your card along with the $40 off coupon; the coupon is not sent via email.

While you must apply and be approved by October 8, the coupon itself expires on November 7, 2022. Meaning: you need to plan on using this $40 credit within the next month to take advantage of this deal — which shouldn’t be an issue with Halloween and Thanksgiving just around the corner.

How Often Is The Target $40 Deal Offered?

This offer comes up periodically and was last available in August 2022, so it appears to be a regular promotion that happens a few times per year. After using the initial $40 coupon, you could conceivably close the debit card and requalify for this promotion the next time it is available, as long as it has been at least 90 days since you last had the card. Therefore, it is possible to save again and again since Target has this promotion regularly. But, there could be downsides worth exploring before you decide to go in that direction.
