Storms expected today along Michigan-Indiana border, Excessive Heat Watch issued for Tuesday
Thunderstorms are expected late today and tonight in Southern lower Michigan, according to the National Weather Service. This is part of a storm system that will also affect parts of Indiana and Ohio.
“Storms may become severe and produce damaging winds and large hail,” the National Weather Service in Northern Indiana said in its forecast early this morning. “A few tornadoes are possible along with locally heavy rainfall.”

In addition, very hot and humid conditions are in the forecast starting Tuesday with record high heat indices possible. An Excessive Heat Watch has already been issued for the Michiana region in advance of those conditions.
