These Stockton-area student-athletes made All-League basketball teams. Plus, who got MVP?
With league play for basketball wrapped up, coaches and athletic directors announced their picks for All-League awards in the San Joaquin Athletic Association and Valley Oak League.
For some teams, the accolades cap off the end of the 2022-23 season, while others are using it as fuel throughout their hunt for a state championship.
“It just shows our growth and our development from where we're at and where we started,” Keith Collins, McNair’s girls' basketball head coach said. “All new girls. A young team. We went from last place in league to arguably (the possibility we) could have finished first if the ball bounced our way a couple of times. Our future is looking bright and these awards reflect that.”
Here are the SJAA and VOL All-League first, second, and defensive teams as well as the MVPs for boys and girls basketball.
