Stocks on the move: Novavax reaches 60M dose vaccine deal with UK, Nio drops following earnings

ADAM SHAPIRO: [INAUDIBLE] trying to go positive, but then there's the Novavax. Shares are up about 8% at the opening bell. The United Kingdom signed a deal for an additional 60 million doses. They received $1.6 billion from US taxpayers, as you might recall. And their recent study of their vaccine showed that it created high levels of antibodies in 56 people. Just one month, that stock is up 38%. We're counting on Novavax, but remember, they have never in their almost 40 years of business brought a vaccine to market.

Then there's Nio. This is the competitor to Tesla, the Chinese electric vehicle manufacturer. Shares down about 5% at the opening bell. Their earnings reported earlier this week some improvement. They tripled vehicle delivery. Now, let's put that into context. They went from 3,000 to about 10,000 vehicles. They had a smaller loss than expected, so they're creeping toward profitability. One month, that stock is down about 8%.
