Steve Martin talks possible retirement after 'Only Murders in the Building': 'This is weirdly it'

After a nearly 60-year run in show business, Steve Martin is thinking about slowing things down.

Martin, who stars in Hulu’s generation-spanning comedy "Only Murders in the Building, opened up about his professional aspirations in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter published Wednesday. The 76-year-old comedian and actor said his recent career success doesn't necessarily change his plans for the future.

"We were very happy just doing the live show," said Martin of his stand-up comedy shows with "Only Murders" co-star Martin Short. "There may be a natural end to that — somebody gets sick, somebody just wears out — but I wouldn’t do it without Marty.

"When this television show is done, I’m not going to seek others. I’m not going to seek other movies. I don’t want to do cameos. This is, weirdly, it."
