STEAM Fest, Firefighters’ Indian River County Fair, St. Patrick's Day events this weekend
The Indian River STEAM Fest, the Firefighters’ Indian River County Fair, the Wild in the Woods Open House and two St. Patrick Day festivals top events and things to do this weekend.
Here’s your Five on Friday weekend update for the Treasure Coast.
Indian River County
Indian River STEAM Fest
10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday
Intergenerational Recreation Center, 1590 Ninth St. S.W., Vero Beach
STEAM Fest is about innovation, imagination and the exploration of Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math for K-12 students. Check out a drone zone, a planetarium experience, mad science shows, a Vero Beach Museum of Art walk-through exhibit, over 60 hands-on exhibits, and food and drinks for sale.
$6 admission for ages 3 and older
Firefighters’ Indian River County Fair
5 p.m. to midnight Friday, 1 p.m. to midnight Saturday, 1-10 p.m. Sunday
Indian River County Fairgrounds, 7955 58th Ave., Vero Beach
Enjoy the 42nd year of family fun with midway rides, live concerts, entertainment, food and exhibits. Indian River County Youth Livestock will have special events, including swine showmanship, a breedstock show, whip-cracking contest and goat yoga. Other activities include Scott’s World of Magic grand illusion and special effects, blacksmith demos, comedy hypnosis, aerial antics and the firefighter training show where the kids are the firefighters.
$10 for adults; $5 for ages 6-12, ages 55 and older, military, first responders; free for kids younger than 6; buy power pass before 5 p.m. Friday for $25 plus service charge for unlimited rides
St. Lucie County
St. Patrick’s Day Festival
5-10 p.m. Friday, 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday
MIDFLORIDA Event Center, 9221 S.E. Event Center Place, Port St. Lucie
Celebrate Irish culture with traditional Irish cuisine, drinks, music, dancing, arts and crafts, carnival rides, a parade at 11 a.m. Saturday and a pet costume contest on Saturday.

Jensen Beach St. Patrick’s Day Festivities and Parade
11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday
Downtown Jensen Beach, 1912 N.E. Jensen Beach Blvd.
Enjoy an afternoon with vendors, music and a parade at 2 p.m.

Martin County
Wild in the Woods Open House
Noon to 4 p.m. Saturday
Treasure Coast Wildlife Center, 8626 S.W. Citrus Blvd., Palm City
The event includes family-friendly activities, such as animal experiences and educational talks, as well as vendors, food trucks, games and prizes.
