Stagg High School stabbing suspect Anthony Gray to go on trial in October in student’s slaying
A trial in the case of Anthony Gray — the man prosecutors allege fatally stabbed a Stagg High student earlier this year — has been set for Oct. 31, court records show.
Gray, 53, last appeared in San Joaquin County Superior Court in June, when a court-appointed doctor testified that he was competent to stand trial. Gray's attorney, Public Defender Lois Keenan, disputed the doctor's conclusion.

Prosecutors allege that on April 19, Gray drove into a parking lot on the south side of the Stagg campus, parked his vehicle and fatally stabbed 15-year-old Alycia Reynaga.
Gray is facing charges of murder, injuring a child and possessing a weapon on school grounds.
