Spruce Creek High celebrates Class of 2022

Family and friends cheered on the 583 Spruce Creek High School seniors who received their diplomas Thursday afternoon at the Ocean Center in Daytona Beach.

Valedictorian Melina Motwani, who will study business and finance at Washington University, and salutatorian Salma Eldeeb, who will attend Brown University's Warren Alpert Medical School, addressed their peers during the ceremony.

Thursday's celebration was the fifth graduation ceremony for Volusia County Schools' 2022 graduation season, with 3,905 expected to walk across the stage and flip their tassels.

These graduates have completed their final two years of high school amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
