In with a splash: Local kids help with trout stocking at Lake Quinsigamond

WORCESTER - The fishing got a little better at Lake Quinsigamond on Wednesday. The state Division of Fisheries & Wildlife stocked the lake with trout, part of a program that adds about 500,000 trout to dozens of waterbodies throughout the state.

The effort at Lake Quinsigamond was aided by about 50 kids who ferried the fish from the stocking truck to the water.

The stocking involves brook, brown, rainbow and tiger trout from hatcheries in Sandwich, Palmer, Belchertown, Sunderland and Montague, according to the agency.
