Wheaton Arts celebrates reopening with Wheaton Springs 2022

Wheaton Arts & Cultural Center will celebrate the start of its creative season by hosting Wheaton Springs 2022 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. April 2.

This free event will offer visitors a chance to explore, experience, create and celebrate across the center’s 45-acre campus!

The event will also introduce the center’s new Glass Studio Director, Netflix “Blown Away” star Alex Rosenberg, through an engaging demonstration creating optical lenses with glass and water.

Explore exhibits in the Museum of American Glass and Down Jersey Folklife Center, showcasing glass collections and the complexities and values of traditional arts through modern-day times.

Experience a collection of artist demonstrations throughout the campus. From bird-related pottery to glass marble production, paper art designs to large-scale murals, broom making to woodcarving, there is inspiration to be found around every corner.

Create with a series of hands-on projects including pine-needle basket making, macrame rope keychains, glass-fused magnets in the Education Studio and more.

Celebrate by enjoying a bite to eat from a selection of food vendors and picnicking on the scenic grounds while listening to soft jazz by musicians Gil Thompson and Chris Angelino.

The center will officially reopen on April 1. Regular hours are from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday through Sunday.

Regular admission is $12 for adults, $11 for ages 62 and older, $7 for students and free for ages 5 and younger.

Storybook Land announces opening date and plan for Easter

Storybook Land will open for the season on April 2.

The Easter event will be held from noon to 4 p.m. April 9, 10, 15, 16 and 17. Children are invited to visit with the Easter Bunny, go on an Easter egg hunt and receive a prize at the end.

Tickets are $27.95 in advance or $30.95 at the gate. Advance ticket purchase is recommended.

The park is at 6415 E. Black Horse Pike in Egg Harbor Township.

Cumberland Players presents ‘Godspell’

Cumberland Players will present “Godspell” at 8 p.m. April 1 and 2, 2 p.m. April 3, 7:30 p.m. April 7 and 8 p.m. April 8 and 9 at the Little Theater.

The show is based on the book by John-Michael Tebelak and features a score by Stephen Schwartz.

Easter Bunny arrives at Cumberland Mall

The Easter Bunny will arrive soon at Cumberland Mall, ready for visits and photos with guests.

Hours are noon to 7 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and noon to 5 p.m. Sunday, from April 1 to 16.

Pets may visit with the Easter Bunny on Mondays. All pets must be on a leash, in a carrier, or held by the owner at all times.

Also, the annual Mad Hatter Tea Party will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. April 9. Children will enjoy meeting Alice, the Queen of Hearts, and the Mad Hatter himself for an afternoon full of music, games, and fun. Tickets are $10.

Dalton Farms to host Festival of Tulips

Dalton Farms will host the Festival of Tulips from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, from March 30 through April 17, rain or shine.

Saturdays and Sundays will feature a food and beer garden by the Red Hen of Swedesboro, wine tasting and sales by Wagonhouse Winery, and music and other vendors that will change based on availability.

Also, visitors may see the Easter Bunny in the fields on April 9, 10, 16, 17.

Tickets are $12 plus tax and fees for ages 3 and older and free for ages 2 and younger and must be purchased online prior to your visit.

Weekend tickets will be sold by arrival time to the farm. Guests are asked to arrive slightly before or at their ticketed time to help aid in traffic flow into and around the farm.

Tulips are $2 per stem or 10 for $10.

Parking is free.

Duffield’s Farm hosts hayrides to the Easter Bunny House

Duffield’s Farm will offer hayrides to the Easter Bunny House from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. April 2 and 9, noon to 4 p.m. April 11 to 15, and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. April 15 and 16.

Guests are invited to take a hayride around the farm and stop off in “Bunny Egg-cres” to gather colored eggs and take pictures. Then visit the Easter Bunny in his house and receive a chocolate treat.

Tickets are $12 for children older than 12-months and free for children 12-months-old and younger and $5 for adults.

Johnson’s Corner Farm announces opening day for egg hunts

Johnson’s Corner Farm opens for the season on April 1.

First up on the fun farm activities for this year is the Egg Hunt Hayride, which runs from April 1 to 16.

Egg hunters and their families will take a wagon ride around the farm to see spring arriving in the fields and orchards. The wagon will stop at the egg hunt location where egg hunters will listen to a quick story on how all of Peter Rabbit’s eggs got left in the field.

Egg hunters will then venture through our beautifully decorated egg hunt area collecting eggs. Egg hunters will then trade in their eggs for a fun filled goodie bag.

After the egg hunt, stop back at the Farm Market for a visit with Peter Rabbit.

Visitors may want to finish their trip to the farm with cookie decorating. Kits are $8 and include one rabbit and one Easter egg, plus all the fixings to create a delicious treat.

Reservations are required for the egg hunt.

Tickets are $9 to $10 for egg hunters and $5 to $6 for non egg hunters.

Also, admission to the Discovery Barnyard/Animal Farm will be offered at one-half price for egg hunters.

Creamy Acres hosts Lil’ Peeps Easter Egg Hunt

Visit Creamy Acres for the Lil’ Peeps Easter Egg Hunt from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. April 2, 9, 15 and 16.

Guests are invited to enjoy a hayride out to the Egg Hunt field. Then hop back on the wagon and head to bunny land where the Easter Bunny will be available for a meet and greet and take your own photo opportunity.

Easter baskets will be provided for gathering eggs. No outside baskets or buckets will be allowed.

Food will be available for purchase at the midway concession area and the market will have Easter flowers and yard décor.

Tickets are $15 for “egg hunter,” a child age 12 and younger plus one adult, and $5 for “non egg hunter” age 13 and older. Advance ticket purchase is recommended.

Edelman Planetarium presents ‘Laser Zeppelin’

Edelman Planetarium’s laser light shows combine music from favorite bands with stunning and immersive laser imagery.

“Laser Zeppelin” will pair Led Zeppelin songs including “Stairway to Heaven,” “In the Evening,” “Ramble On,” “Black Dog” and more with intense laser programming.

Show times are 7 p.m. Fridays through June 24.

Pinelands Preservation Alliance hosts juried photo exhibit

The Pinelands Preservation Alliance’s 2022 Pinelands Juried Photographic Competition and Exhibition will be on display in the PPA headquarters from March 28 through April 29.

The exhibit may be viewed from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday, noon to 5 p.m. Sunday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.

The images submitted for this exhibit celebrate the natural beauty and rich cultural heritage of the Pinelands National Reserve. Images were taken within the boundaries of the New Jersey Pinelands National Reserve depicting its landscape, flora, wildlife, communities and people.

Each week attendees will have an opportunity to participate in a raffle to win prizes.

All acceptable photographs submitted will be displayed in an online Pinelands art gallery by April 16.

Enjoy the night skies from the top of the Cape May Lighthouse

Cape May Lighthouse will be open for several evening climbs this month.

Climb the 199 steps up the original, cast iron spiral stairway to the top of the 1859 Cape May Lighthouse for an evening view of the Delaware Bay and Atlantic Ocean, the surrounding nature trails of Cape May Point State Park, and Cape May Point Borough.

Interpretive panels on the grounds, at the base and on the climb tell stories of Lighthouse Keepers, the surrounding area, and how the lighthouse functioned historically and today.

The schedule includes:

  • Stairway to the Stars Lighthouse Climb, 7 to 9 p.m. April 1.

  • Lighthouse Full Moon Climb, 7 to 9 p.m. April 16.
