Shreveport Mayor-Elect Tom Arceneaux to be inaugurated on New Year's Eve
Mayor-Elect Tom Arceneaux will be hosting his inauguration Saturday, Dec. 31.
On Dec. 10, Rep. Arceneaux won the mayoral runoff election with 56 percent of the vote compared to his opponent Democratic state Senator Greg Tarver who received 44 percent of the vote.
In early 2022, Arceneaux announced his intent to run for mayor after serving as a member of the Shreveport City Council from 1982-1990. He also brings with him 13 years of service on the Board of Directors for the Highland Restoration Association.
During his inauguration, seven city council members will be inaugurated as well.
The event will begin at 10 a.m. on Saturday at the Shreveport Convention Center.
