money Shreveport city officials speak out following Friday's officer-involved shooting
Members of the Shreveport City Council met Monday morning to pray over the city and the victim's family who was involved in the Friday evening officer-involved shooting.
"We are deeply saddened by the fatal officer-involved shooting that occurred on Friday evening," said Councilwoman Tabitha Taylor. "Our thoughts and condolences go out to the Bagley family and the loved ones of the deceased."
On Feb. 3, Alonzo Sentell Bagley, 43, died at Ochsner LSU Health around 11:30 p.m. following a confrontation with a Shreveport Police officer.
Bagley was shot during the confrontation that occurred at an apartment complex in the 1600 block of Fullerton Street.

Shreveport Police Chief, Wayne Smith said that his heart bled when he learned of the tragedy. "I responded immediately to the scene to find out as much as I could about what had occurred. My heart bleeds and I'm also with them at the loss of another life here in Shreveport," said Smith. He also noted that LSP was already on the scene when he arrived.
"We pledge the full cooperation of the city in the investigation for the Louisiana State Police," said Mayor Tom Arceneaux.
Taylor said, "this tragic loss of life impacts us all and we want you to know that we are here, that we are expedient, and we are standing alongside the police chief, Louisiana State Police, City Marshals Office and this family."
The Bagley family was in attendance at the press conference. "We'd like to recognize the Bagley family that had enough strength to show up and we ask that you would lift them up as we pray," said Councilman James Green.
No further information was released during the Monday morning press conference, but Smith wants to let the public know that all facts will be uncovered and revealed. "You can rest assure that a thorough investigation will take place," said Smith.
