ShopRite to host in-store job fair Thursday afternoon at many NJ locations

Wakefern, the parent company of ShopRite, is hosting a walk-up job fair at many of its retail locations this Thursday.

The open positions are full- and part-time and range from front end and store clerks to management and those working with perishable goods.

Between 2 and 6 p.m. at most ShopRite locations in New Jersey, prospective candidates can visit and speak with a hiring representative for an immediate interview.

“Each job offers opportunities for career growth and plays an integral part in the operation of the entire Wakefern cooperative and its retail banners and stores,” the press announcement reads. The grocery store cooperative is based in Woodbridge.

Wakefern stressed that there would be “flexible hours,” meaning an alternative to a 9-to-5 schedule, as well as “entertainment and tuition discounts, and scholarship opportunities.”

It is not clear how many positions ShopRite expects to fill during the fair.

ShopRite stores in Hillside, Millville and Newark are not participating in the job fair, according to the website.
