Authorities are searching for a man they say may be armed and dangerous after four people were fatally shot Friday at several crime scenes in an Ohio neighborhood.

Police in Butler Township — located near Dayton, Ohio — arrived around 11:30 a.m. Friday after reports of shots fired.

Officers found multiple crime scenes with four victims suffering from gunshot wounds, Chief John Porter said at a news conference. All four victims were pronounced dead at the scenes by the Butler Township Fire Department.

The Montgomery County Coroner’s Office did not immediately confirm the identities of the victims.

Police said they were searching for Stephen Marlow, 39, as a person of interest in the shooting.

Marlow — who was described by police as a 5-foot-11, 160-pound white male with brown hair — is believed to have fled the area in a white 2007 Ford Edge SUV bearing Ohio license plate JES9806. He was last seen wearing shorts and a yellow T-shirt, Porter said.

Porter warned residents "he is still likely to be armed and dangerous."

The Butler Township Police Department contacted the Dayton Police Department Bomb Squad to ensure there are not other imminent threats to the neighborhood. Police said they don't believe there is any ongoing threat to residents but will have officers in the neighborhood in case he returns.

On Saturday, the Federal Bureau of Investigations released photos of Marlow along with statements saying he could be in Indianapolis, Chicago or Lexington, Kentucky, as he has ties to those cities.

Porter said the shooting was "the first violent crime in this neighborhood in recent memory."

"We are working to determine if there is any motive to this horrible tragedy or if mental illness played any role," he said.

Marlow was previously convicted of aggravated burglary and aggravated menacing in February 2020 in connection to a 2019 incident in Vandalia, a suburb of Dayton in Montgomery County, Dayton Daily News reported.
