Saturday's Top Prep Performers from water polo, basketball and wrestling

Highlights from Saturday in high school sports:

GIRLS WATER POLO

  • Ventura defeated Moorpark 11-0, El Dorado 10-2 and Notre Dame-Sherman Oaks 12-8 to finish first at the Oxnard Tournament. Against Moorpark, Marty Pecht scored three goals, Kelsee Espitia and Abby Block each had two goals, and goalie Kiana Kellner posted the shutout. Against El Dorado, Pecht had three goals, Espitia, Block and Emily Ball each finished with two goals, and Kellner had eight blocks and scored a goal. Against Notre Dame-Sherman Oaks, Ball scored three goals, Pecht and Ella Montano each had two goals, and Kellner had nine blocks and nine forced misses for the Cougars (17-4-1). Kellner was named the tournament's MVP.

  • Villanova Prep defeated Santa Ynez 11-0, Thousand Oaks 10-3 and Palos Verdes 9-6 at the Oxnard Tournament. Tijana Rončević finished with 18 goals, Hannah Tully-Giles had five goals, Kate Miller had four goals and Ida Tully-Giles made 15 saves.

  • Santa Paula lost 12-3 to Palos Verdes, 9-6 to Newbury Park and 12-5 to Santa Ynez to finish 12th at the Oxnard Tournament. Goalie Jackie Lagunas had a season-high 15 saves against Newbury Park and Santa Ynez and finished with 40 on the day. Izabel Magana scored 11 goals for the Cardinals (6-14).

BOYS BASKETBALL

  • Jordan Torres poured in 27 points, Isaac Means and Marcos Jaquez each had 13 points, and Tyler Hook had eight points for Camarillo (12-9) in its 69-66 loss to Valley Christian-Cerritos at the Maranatha High Showcase.

  • Donald Clark scored 16 points, Adrien Weills had 11 points, Lukas Lechau had 10 points, and Stevie Prudholme finished with nine points and six assists to lead Oaks Christian to an 83-38 win over Cantwell Sacred Heart at the Maranatha High Showcase.

  • Evan Conant scored 17 points, Josh Rosen had 15 points, Campbell Gaston had 12 points, Willem Rutherford had nine points, and Beckham Rutherford added eight points to lead Nordhoff (10-7, 2-0) to a 63-53 win over Malibu in a Citrus Coast League game.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

  • Amaya Fuentes finished with 16 points and nine rebounds, Emily Rea scored 10 points, Dani Henley had nine points and three rebounds, Alina Olivo had seven points, five steals and three assists, and Tiernan Phillips added four points and six assists to lead Ventura to a 49-43 win over Pacifica in a Pacific View League game. Myla Scott had nine points, five rebounds and five assists, Alina Anguiano had nine points and five rebounds, Mimi Moon finished with eight points, six rebounds and five assists, and Mikayla Oliver contributed eight points and six rebounds for the Tritons.

BOYS WRESTLING

  • Rio Mesa finished third at the Western Rumble. Anthony Solis took second in his weight class, Anthony Garcia, Crispin Agraz, Konrad Fenlo, KK Johnson and George Rodriquez each placed third, and Matt Hernandez took fifth.
