If Ron DeSantis is elected president, he'll add several questions to history trivia

Now that Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis has thrown the proverbial hat into the ring for a presidential run, we thought it would be fun to take a closer look at the his background in relation to previously elected president's all the way back to No. 1 − that would be George Washington.

We looking at everything from DeSantis' age for Inauguration Day 2025 to his religion. If nothing else, you will be properly educated to maybe win a couple of bar bets:

1. How many U.S. Presidents have the first name Ronald?

DeSantis would be the second president named Ronald or "Ron." His full name is Ronald Dion DeSantis. The first “Ron?" Ronald Reagan, the 40th President of the U.S.

2. Have any U.S. presidents' last names started with the letter D?

No. DeSantis would be the first to hold this distinction.

3. How old is Ron DeSantis? Who was the youngest U.S. President on Inauguration Day?

Youngest: Theodore Roosevelt was 42 years, 322 days old.

Second youngest: John F. Kennedy was 43 years, 236 days old.

DeSantis would be 46 on Jan. 20, 2025, when the next president will be inaugurated, making him the third youngest ever inaugurated. DeSantis celebrates his birthday on Sept. 14.

BTW, Joe Biden was the oldest president at his inauguration: 78 years, 61 days.

4. How many U.S. Presidents were born in Florida?

DeSantis would be the first Sunshine State president! He was born in Jacksonville, Sept. 14, 1978.

5. How many U.S. Presidents were born in the month of September?

DeSantis would only be the second president born in September.  William Howard Taft, the 27th U.S. President, was born Sept. 15, 1857.

6. How many U.S. presidents have held the position of governor?

DeSantis would be No. 18. The most recent was George W. Bush (No. 43) – Texas.

7. How many U.S. presidents were Catholic?

If elected, DeSantis would be the third Catholic president joining John F. Kennedy and current President Joe Biden.

8. How many U.S. presidents have graduated from Yale?

DeSantis would be the sixth. He got his BA from Yale. William Howard Taft, George H.W Bush, and George W. Bush for undergraduate studies. Both Gerald Ford and Bill Clinton attended Yale Law School as well.

9. How many U.S. Presidents have graduated from Harvard?

DeSantis would be the ninth. He attended Harvard Law School. Eight U.S. presidents went to Harvard, starting with John Adams, followed by John Quincy Adams, both Roosevelts, and John F. Kennedy, who received six undergraduate degrees from Harvard. Barack Obama, George Bush, and Rutherford Hayes attended Harvard Law and Business schools

10. Has there ever been an Italian American president?

No. DeSantis would be the first.
