Gadsden’s municipal election is Aug. 23, and the city is altering its trolley routes on that day to facilitate voters getting to the polls.

According to a news release from the city, trolleys will stop at these voting sites:

GADSDEN REGIONAL MEDICAL CENTER ROUTE

DISTRICT 1 

Antioch Baptist Church Family Life Center, 2103 E. Broad St.

DISTRICTS 1 and 2

East Gadsden Community Center, 921 Wilson Ave.

DISTRICT 4 

The Venue at Coosa Landing, 201 George Wallace Drive

CENTRAL ROUTE

DISTRICTS 2 and 3 

Thompson Community Center, 236 Goldenrod Ave.

DISTRICT 3 

Carver Community Center, 1030 Tuscaloosa Ave.

Former Gadsden High School Lunchroom, 607 S. 12th St.

WEST ROUTE

DISTRICTS 4 and 5 

Downtown Civic Center, 623 Broad St.

The Tabernacle Gym, 1301 S. 11th St.

DISTRICT 6

DISTRICTS 6 and 7 

Dwight Baptist Church, 520 N. 29th St.

There is no trolley service to two polling places: Meadowbrook Baptist Church in District 4 and Kiwanis Pavilion in District 7.

Trolleys run from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., and city officials advise in the release that riders plan their trips accordingly to ensure they can get a return ride.

Regular trolley riders also are advised that the election focus could impact regular service.
