Pueblo could receive snow this weekend, but just how much snow is possible to fall?
Warmer temperatures will return to Pueblo after a cold Dec. 6 and a windy Dec. 5.
The high temperature recorded by the National Weather Service Pueblo on Dec. 6 was 36. The high was 73 on Dec. 5, but strong wind gusts blew in the system which brought in cooler temperatures.
"We have an upper-level trough moving down in the jet stream," said NWS Pueblo Meteorologist Michael Garberoglio. "That's going to be digging further south over the next few days here, along with an upper-level low. And that's what's been giving us this cooler air — it's been following it down from the north.

"The wind increasing is what's helped us kind of funnel in those cooler temperatures and also has been what's providing us with the snow we've been getting over the mountains."
The snowfall over higher elevations has been less than typical amounts, according to Garberoglio.
While looking at webcams on mountain passes, he said, it appeared that only 1-to-2 inches of snow had fallen on some of the mountain ranges in Southern Colorado.
"That's probably the extent of what we've been seeing so far precipitation should be diminishing throughout the late morning to early afternoon here," he said. "So yeah, we're still pretty dry compared to compared to normal for this time."
This is the furthest into fall Pueblo has gone without measurable snowfall.
Temperatures will rise into the high 50s and low 60s Dec. 7, 8 and 9 before colder temperatures and the chance of snow over the weekend.
Highs will be in the mid to upper 40s while lows dip down into the teens.
"We have the main part of this system coming in mostly in the (Dec. 9, Dec. 10, Dec. 11) timeframe here," Garberogli said. "As far as snow and lows go, (Dec. 8) isn't looking great.
"That's still going to be pretty light and mainly confined to just the mountains. Our best chance of snow here on the Eastern Plains and the I-25 corridor is going be on (Dec. 10)."
Garberogli said that current data suggests regions along the Eastern slope could receive 1-to-2 inches of snow over the weekend.
"tI's not going to be a horrible amount over I-25," he said. "We're looking at a light dusting, probably up to 1-to-2 inches, especially along the Eastern slopes. And. as long as no convective type banding sets up, those amounts should be pretty consistent."
