money Previewing South Bend Washington's 3A girls basketball state title game vs. Silver Creek
INDIANAPOLIS — Fifteen years ago, the South Bend Washington girls basketball team won it's first state championship behind its superstar sophomore Skylar Diggins.
A year ago, the Panthers were on the cusp of the program's second state title but fell short against No. 1 Silver Creek.
This year, head coach Steve Reynolds' team — led by his trio of daughters — is No. 1 in 3A as Washington gets another crack at the Dragons today at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis.
The Panthers, in their sixth trip to the IHSAA state championship game, are looking for their first title since that 2007 team. Tipoff is 6 p.m.
