‘Pregnant’ Lil Nas X launches unique ‘baby registry’ to raise money for Black and LGBTQ+ charities
Lil Nas X is taking a pregnant pause for the cause.
The Grammy Award-winning rap artist, who promoted his long-awaited debut album, “Montero” by announcing he was “giving birth,” has launched a baby registry to promote the project’s Sept. 17 release.
But instead of expecting fans to purchase baby car seats, baby disposable diapers and baby bottle warmers, he is encouraging donations to a number of charitable organizations.
“Me and my team have set up a ‘baby registry’ for many charities if you guys would like to donate,” Lil Nas X captioned two photos of him showing a protruding belly with an official link to the baby registry.
The website features a different charity for each of the Columbia Records-distributed opus’ 15 songs, including Black and LGBTQ+ charities or nonprofit groups that people can donate to.
This includes the previously announced The Bail Project for “Industry Baby” (featuring Jack Harlow), Transinclusive Group for “Montero,”, Compassion Atlanta for “The Art of Realization,” Relationship Unleashed for “Scoop” featuring Doja Cat, and The Happy Hippie organization for “Am I Dreaming” featuring Miley Cyrus.
Megan Thee Stallion and Elton John are also featured collaborators on “Montero.”
The history-making “Old Town Road” hit-maker has been consistently sending the internet into a frenzy by posting faux pregnancy photos of himself, including a video in which he is seen working out preparing for the arrival of his “baby.”
