Powerball jackpot jumps to $675 million for Monday's 7/10 drawing

The Powerball and Mega Millions are reaching heights not seen in months.

Combined the two U.S. jackpots are $1.15 billion for this week's lottery drawings after no one has won either of the lotteries since April.

Powerball jackpot hits $675 million for 7/10/23

The Powerball jackpot for Monday night's drawing was originally estimated to be $650 million after no one won Saturday night's drawing, according to the lottery website. However, the jackpot grew to an estimated $675 million with a cash option of $340.9 million on Monday as sales for the drawing increased expectations.

It's now the 13th largest jackpot in U.S. lottery history and ninth largest in Powerball history.

The jackpot was last won on April 19 when a lottery player in Ohio won a $252.6 million jackpot.

The Powerball jackpot is $650 million for Monday, July 10, 2023 and the Mega Millions is $480 million for Tuesday.

Mega Millions jackpot at $480 million for 7/11/23

Tuesday night's Mega Millions will be an estimated $450 million with a cash option of $240.7 million after no one won in Friday's drawing, according to the lottery.

The jackpot was last won on April 18 when someone in East Syracuse, New York won a $20 million jackpot and was also won on April 14 when a lottery player in Ozone Park, New York won a $483 million jackpot.

How do I play Powerball?

The cost is $2 per ticket, but you can add the Power Play for $1, which will increase the amount of your potential prize up to five times the original prize (except for the jackpot and Match 5). There is also a 10x Power Play possibility when the jackpot is less than $150 million.

Each player selects five numbers from 1 to 69 for the white balls and one number from 1 to 26 for the red Powerball. However, you can also have the lottery machine generate a quick pick ticket with random numbers for you.
