This popular chicken-and-waffles restaurant is coming to Arizona. Here's what's on the menu

Fans of chicken and waffles will be happy to read that a new must-try restaurant is coming to Arizona.

Chick-in Waffle, popular in Missouri, is opening its first Arizona location in Tucson. The grand opening for this new chicken spot is scheduled for May 19. The opening will have a ribbon-cutting ceremony, giveaways and a live DJ.

However, you can get a taste of their food during the restaurant's soft opening, which kicked off on May 17 and continues from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on May 18.

Locations are also planned for Phoenix and Mesa, according to the restaurant's Instagram.

"We are thrilled to bring Chick-In Waffle to Arizona," said Dennis Alazzeh, founder and CEO of Chick-In Waffle. "We've always had a goal of spreading waffly good chicken across the country, and this is a great opportunity to do just that."

What's on the menu at Chick-in Waffle?

The Arizona location will feature the same menu as the Kansas City restaurant. You can find the restaurant's whole menu online at chick-in-waffle.com.

Menu items include:

  • Classic buttermilk chicken topped with maple syrup and chives with a bubble waffle.

  • Crispy buttermilk chicken served in monterey-jack queso with jalapenos and chives on a waffle.

  • Crispy chicken dipped in kettle-cooked sweet barbecue sauce topped with chives and pickles on a waffle.

Where is Chick-in Waffle?

The restaurant will be located at 5524 E. Grant Road, next to Frida's Cafe, inside what used to be a Burger King.
