Pixar's new movie Soul has been delayed until November
Disney has delayed the release of Soul, Pixar's new animation about a wannabe jazz performer whose inner-being gets separated from his body following an unfortunate incident.
The movie was originally scheduled for release on June 19, but it will now arrive in cinemas on November 20, 2020.
Soul is the latest in a long line of movies to be postponed as a result of the global lockdown, which has in turn halted production in Hollywood.
For Disney alone, they recently announced that the live-action remake of Mulan would be pushed back to July 24, Black Widow will move to November 7 and The Eternals will be delayed as far as February 2021.
With this latest schedule shift, there now isn't a major movie set to open in cinemas until the end of July. The likes of No Time to Die, Wonder Woman 1984, Top Gun: Maverick, Morbius, Ghostbuster: Afterlife and F9 have all been pushed back.

Soul follows a middle school teacher named Joe Gardiner (voiced by Jamie Foxx) who aspires to be a jazz musician. But just as he's about to make a breakthrough, he accidentally falls down a manhole causing his soul to be separated from his body.
In a race against time, Joe teams up with another soul named 22 (voiced by Tina Fey) to find his way back to his body before it's too late.
Soul will be the second Pixar film released this year following Onward, the fantasy adventure that features the voices of Tom Holland and Chris Pratt.
Onward arrived in cinemas just before the world went into lockdown, but its performance at the box office is likely to have been damaged as a result.
