Earlier this week, WKYC's Kling unveiled the "Betsy Impact Index," to describe the severity of this year's winter weather. This week's storm is ranked at the most extreme end of the meter, labeled "Dayum!" The Akron area could receive 8 to 12 inches of snow by Friday, according to the National Weather Service.

"We're just trying to have a little fun with an unfortunate weather experience," said Pappas.

Those who snag a "Dayum" pint and post a photo of themselves eating it with Pav's Creamery tagged will be entered in a drawing for tickets to an upcoming Cavs game.

"It's hard to make ice cream in the winter as is, let alone a winter-themed ice cream. I started thinking about snowballs and googling snowball desserts or novelties and saw that Hostess made one, and I was like, 'Of course, I remember those.'"

Pappas grabbed some Hostess Snoballs from the store, chopped them up and threw them into some vanilla ice cream. The mix of vanilla, chocolate and marshmallow was better than he expected.

"I'm not a big Snoball guy," he said. "I was more [into] cupcakes or Twinkies, but Snoball with with some vanilla ice cream is a winnable combination and it turned out being pretty good."

Pav's Creamery has shops in the Portage Lakes area, Green, North Canton and Cuyahoga Falls. The flavor will be available at all locations until Saturday.
