Ouachita Parish construction projects: Here's what residents can expect in 2022

Ouachita Parish has an extensive list of improvements and infrastructure projects on the horizon for 2022.

Parish Police Jury President Shane Smiley said residents are going to notice a lot of construction projects in the new year, specifically for roads and drainage.

"We're working to complete the East Town and Country Drainage Project, as well as the Raccoon Bayou Drainage Project," Smiley said. "We've got a number of road construction projects that people are going to see in 2022 and, honestly, quite a number of those projects are projects that people of the parish should be very proud of because they themselves voted for the sales tax increase on both the east and west sides of the [Ouachita] River about three years ago."
