Scouting West Virginia

Record: 3-6 (1-5 Big 12)

Best player: Bryce Ford-Wheaton is quarterback JT Daniels' top target in the passing game. The junior wide receiver boasts 51 receptions for 605 yards this season. West Virginia attempts the fourth-most pass attempts per game (37.8) in the Big 12, so Ford-Wheaton should be a name that'll get called often on Saturday.

The case for West Virginia: West Virginia can't be counted out when it plays at home. That was proven when it earned a Week 7 win over Baylor in Morgantown. West Virginia only managed to score 14 points this past weekend against a strong Iowa State defense, but it'll likely have better luck against OU's shaky defense.

The case for OU: OU's offense was the killer in this past weekend's loss to Baylor. Dillon Gabriel threw three interceptions, tying a career-high for a single game, but he should fare better against a West Virginia defense that ranks last in the Big 12 in interceptions (three). The Mountaineers also rank last in the conference in points allowed per game (34.2), which is music to the Sooners' ears.
