Payroll Giovanni moves to a different stage of life on “It’s Around.” “I don’t flash money or guns, but they know it’s around,” raps Giovanni on the hook of the Cardo-produced track. The longtime Detroit rapper makes music that nearly everyone in his hometown dreams of creating themselves. Far removed from all of the local beefs, Giovanni just enjoys his day-to-day; he’s sipping wine in his backyard, taking his Benz out for a cruise, and throwing his kid a birthday party. His collaborations with Cardo perfectly capture his change in lifestyles, and I can only imagine Big Bossin Vol. 3 will be their chillest mixtape yet.
