► OSU coach Mike Boynton said Thursday that no player had entered COVID-19 protocols after the overtime win Monday night against Cleveland State, which has since paused all activities and canceled two games due to the coronavirus. Boynton said the entire team and staff are vaccinated and several have received boosters, but the OSU medical staff is monitoring every team member.
► OSU will be without center Moussa Cisse, who returned to Africa following a death in his family. The 7-foot Memphis transfer played just 3 minutes in Monday’s overtime win against Cleveland State after receiving news that afternoon of the family emergency. He is also likely to miss Tuesday’s game against USC in the Paycom Center.
► This game is part of the Hoop Hype XL College Basketball Showcase and is the third time in four seasons the Cowboys have faced Houston. OSU and Houston last played in a home-and-home series in 2018 and 2019, with each team winning on the road. OSU leads the series 13-8.
