A Hoover Reservoir home listed for $4.2 million comes with lighted basketball and tennis courts, a soundproof studio and a "subterranean" garage with a ramp to the outside.

If that's not enough … John Travolta once called the place home. In the spring of 2015, when he was in town filming the movie "I Am Wrath," Travolta rented the property for an extended stay.

The stone estate, in a French-manor style, sits on 19 wooded acres in Lake of the Woods Estates, on the east side of Hoover outside of Columbus.

Built in 1994 by local car dealer Richard Roby and his wife, Venus, the home includes seven bedrooms, five full bathrooms, three half baths, a mother-in-law suite, five fireplaces and 16,400 square feet of living space.

DeLena Ciamacco, with RE/MAX Connection Realtors, is listing the home for $4,199,900.

Visitors enter into a two-story marble foyer with dual curving staircases. Passing through columns, they come into the two-story great room leading to a stone terrace. A chef's kitchen, a dining room, two first-floor suites, a family room and an office can also be found on the main floor.

More than a mile of groomed trails wind through the woods and by the lake, and offer a stop at a covered dock on Hoover.

The home sits on 19 acres but an adjacent lot of 14 acres can be purchased with the home.
