The LSU men's basketball team welcomed Ole Miss to the Pete Maravich Assembly Center on Tuesday night for another Southeastern Conference matchup.

The Rebels defeated the Tigers 76-72.

Ranked No. 25 in the USA TODAY Coaches Poll, LSU fell to 16-6 overall and 4-5 in the SEC with the loss. The Tigers were led in scoring by Darius Days with 21 points.

Ole Miss improved to 12-10 overall and 3-6 in the SEC with the victory. The Rebels were led in scoring by Daeshun Ruffin with 19 points.

Ole Miss' Luis Rodriguez extended its lead to 61-48 over LSU in the second half when Luis Rodriguez picked off an LSU pass and ran untouched down the court for a slam dunk at the other end.

LSU's Eric Gaines cut Ole Miss' lead to 53-47 by forcing a steal on defense and driving the length of the court for a layup. Gaines weaved his way around Rebels defenders and drew a foul on his shot attempt.

LSU's Tari Eason maneuvered his way around a couple of Ole Miss defenders to bank in a fast-break layup early in the second half. The bucket cut the Rebels' lead to 51-42.

LSU cut Ole Miss' lead to 45-38 when Tari Eason blocked a layup attempt, and the ball found its way into Darius Days' hands at the other end of the court. Days proceeded to swish home a 3-pointer.

LSU's Tari Eason allowed his defense to create offense against Ole Miss. The forward knocked the ball loose from Rebels guard Tye Fagan and threw down a one-handed slam dunk at the other end.

Ole Miss' Luis Rodriguez got his hands on an LSU pass and came up with the steal. With no one to beat at the other end of the court, Rodriguez capped off the play by throwing down a one-handed slam dunk.

LSU's Eric Gaines poked the ball loose from Ole Miss' Daeshun Ruffin, and teammate Tari Eason recovered the loose ball. Eason found Gaines sprinting down the court with a pass, and Gaines finished the play with a slam dunk.

Ole Miss extended its lead to 26-11 over LSU early in the first half when Daeshun Ruffin connected yet again with teammate Nysier Brooks for an alley-oop.

LSU cut Ole Miss' lead to 17-8 early in the first half when Eric Gaines drove toward the basket and drilled a jump shot over a leaping defender.
