SEANA SMITH: I also wanted to just get your thoughts on another story that seems to keep creeping up almost every day at this point, and that's Tesla. It's something that you have been following very closely for us here on Yahoo Finance, and the drama that's playing out with Elon Musk reopening the plant too early in California.

It's interesting when you take a look at the most recent reports, and that's in the fact that Texas' Governor Greg Abbott-- he's saying that he spoke with Elon Musk about potentially moving its headquarters, as well as some of its future operations, to Texas. What can you tell us about those discussions at this point?

EMILY MCCORMICK: So all we know as of now is that these discussions did take place between the Texas governor, as well as a county judge for Hidalgo County, specifically in Texas. He had actually written an open letter to Elon Musk earlier this week after Musk, over the weekend, had threatened to pull production and manufacturing outside of California and away from the Fremont facility overall.

But at the same time, we also have to mention, though, that it's looking like the saga and that tension between Alameda County in northern California and Tesla is slackening a little bit. We had Alameda County officials saying in a statement yesterday that they have received Tesla's site-specific Fremont COVID-19 prevention and control plan, as anticipated.

They said they have been in dialogue with the company, and that they're willing to allow it to open as soon as next week if they took additional safety precautions into account as they start this factory reopening. So looking like they're being a little bit more amenable to letting Tesla open its Fremont factory. In the statement, they didn't acknowledge the fact that Elon Musk had defied county rules earlier this week and already started allowing employees into the factory and to resume production. But as of now, looking, again, like that tension is starting to decrease between the county and the company.

SEANA SMITH: All right. Emily McCormick, thanks so much.
