ZACK GUZMAN: Meantime, while we're chatting politics and money here, it might be worth taking another look here at the net worth of a new VP candidate here in Kamala Harris, of course, Joe Biden recently naming her his running mate. And for more on how her wealth stacks up, we're going to bring on Yahoo Finance's Jessica Smith, who has the details. And Jess, I mean, combined with her husband's net worth, she's right up there with the Bidens.

JESSICA SMITH: Yeah, and one of our Yahoo money reporters actually went through and wrote this story. She crunched the numbers. And this is what she came up with. She says that Kamala Harris and her husband Doug Emhoff have a net worth of $2.4 million to $5.6 million according to financial disclosures from 2019. In 2018, the couple made $1.9 million, including more than $300,000 from her book "The Truths We Hold."

She made much less when she was a San Francisco district attorney and the attorney general of California. During those years, she made between $128,00 and $158,000-- so much less. And then she started to get an income boost when she and her husband, another lawyer, got married in 2014. Then they started filing jointly.

The couple does have three homes-- one in DC, one in LA, and one in San Francisco. And Forbes says they have a total value of $5.8 million. So Harris and Biden, among the wealthiest of the candidates who were running for the Democratic nomination, other than, of course, you have Mike Bloomberg, Tom Steyer, billionaires. So they're in a whole other category here. But yes, Harris and Biden were among the wealthiest in the group.

ZACK GUZMAN: Yeah, very interesting. I mean, it's going to be tough, I think, for President Trump to attack the wealth front there, as another billionaire himself. We'll see how it all shakes out. Jess Smith, appreciate you bringing us--
