Weeks after TobyKeith the Chihuahua set the internet ablaze after being named the world's oldest living dog, a new pup has broken the record. Her name is Pebbles.

Pebbles the 4-pound Toy Fox Terrier now holds the record title for world's oldest living dog at 22 years and 59 days as of Thursday, according to Guinness World Records.

Pebbles' owners, Bobby and Julie Gregory of Greenville County, South Carolina, decided to apply for the title after seeing TobyKeith on the news and knew that Pebbles was older.

“Bobby was sitting on the couch, and friends and family started texting and calling about a story they saw about a 21-year-old dog getting the record,” Julie told Guinness.

“She was jumping and barking so much at Bobby that he had no choice but to pick her up and check her out," Julie told Guinness. "It was instant love the second the two met."

The couple said Pebbles has been the queen of their home ever since. Although she can get cranky when woken up, the couple told Guinness, she usually has a calm demeanor and loves attention.

She also enjoys country music while sleeping and is a fan of warm weather.

“Most of the people that know Pebbles can’t believe how long she has lived,” Julie told Guinness.

She said the recipe for Pebbles' long life is being showered with love, attention and plenty of food. Julie also told Guinness Pebbles is in good health despite the typical symptoms that comes with aging.

“We are truly honored. Pebbles has been with us through everything, ups and downs, good times and bad, and she has always been the beacon of our lives.”
